50 Never Have I Ever Questions for Couples

2026-09-28

Two rounded blob characters propped on cushions late at night, one mid-laugh, a warm lamp to the left and the rest of the room dark

Most never have I ever lists are written for a party of eight strangers. This one is not. It assumes you already know what the other person's face does when they are about to lie.

The rules stay the same: one of you reads a line, and whoever has done it admits it. No drink required, though nobody is stopping you. What changes is the payoff, because the admission lands on someone who has to live with you afterwards.

Four groups below, roughly in order of how much you will regret starting. Read a few, not forty.

Soft start

Small domestic crimes. Nobody gets hurt and everybody is guilty of at least four.

  1. Never have I ever gone to bed angry on purpose.

  2. Never have I ever pretended to be asleep so I would not have to get up.

  3. Never have I ever eaten the last of something and blamed the other person.

  4. Never have I ever re-read a message from you more than three times.

  5. Never have I ever kept a gift I did not like so you would never know.

  6. Never have I ever taken the bigger half without saying anything.

  7. Never have I ever let the phone ring because I did not want to talk.

  8. Never have I ever agreed to a plan I had no intention of keeping.

  9. Never have I ever said I was five minutes away before I had left the house.

  10. Never have I ever stolen the whole duvet and denied it in the morning.

  11. Never have I ever put something back in the fridge with one bite left in it.

  12. Never have I ever pretended to like a film because you loved it.

  13. Never have I ever finished the episode without you.

Embarrassing

The ones you would not admit to a colleague. Different rules apply here.

  1. Never have I ever practised a conversation with you in the shower.

  2. Never have I ever cried at an advert with the sound off.

  3. Never have I ever checked my reflection in a shop window and got caught.

  4. Never have I ever waved at someone who was waving at the person behind me.

  5. Never have I ever sent a message to the wrong chat and deleted it very fast.

  6. Never have I ever laughed out loud, alone, at something nobody else found funny.

  7. Never have I ever worn the same clothes two days running and said nothing.

  8. Never have I ever googled something you told me to check whether it was true.

  9. Never have I ever talked to an animal in a voice I would deny using.

  10. Never have I ever mumbled an entire chorus while pretending to know the song.

  11. Never have I ever photographed my own food and then not posted it.

  12. Never have I ever fallen asleep in a cinema I had paid for.

After midnight

Save these for late. They are less about confession and more about admitting how much you care.

  1. Never have I ever thought about you in the middle of a work meeting.

  2. Never have I ever cancelled plans to stay in with you and lied about the reason.

  3. Never have I ever kissed you mainly to end an argument.

  4. Never have I ever been jealous of someone I knew was completely harmless.

  5. Never have I ever chosen an outfit specifically for your reaction to it.

  6. Never have I ever read far more into a message than there was anything to read.

  7. Never have I ever pictured our life in ten years, in detail, on a normal Tuesday.

  8. Never have I ever kept a photo of you that I never told you about.

  9. Never have I ever said I missed you first and pretended it was casual.

  10. Never have I ever stayed on the phone long after we ran out of things to say.

  11. Never have I ever wanted to call you in the middle of the night and not done it.

  12. Never have I ever fallen for you a second time, later, for a different reason.

About the two of us

These are the ones worth writing down afterwards. They tend to start a longer conversation than the game.

  1. Never have I ever told someone our story and made myself sound better in it.

  2. Never have I ever kept a receipt from a night out with you.

  3. Never have I ever taken your side in public and disagreed with you privately.

  4. Never have I ever memorised your order without meaning to.

  5. Never have I ever noticed you were upset and waited for you to say it first.

  6. Never have I ever rearranged a whole day around one of your messages.

  7. Never have I ever let you win an argument I was fairly sure I could have won.

  8. Never have I ever saved a voice note from you and never played it to anyone.

  9. Never have I ever checked you were asleep before turning off the light.

  10. Never have I ever been proud of you in a room where I could not say it out loud.

  11. Never have I ever told a long story about you to someone who has never met you.

  12. Never have I ever kept a habit of yours after we picked it up together.

  13. Never have I ever known exactly what you were about to say and let you say it.

One rule that makes it better

When someone admits to one, do not move straight to the next line. Ask when. The line is the prompt; the story is the point, and the story is usually three sentences long and worth more than the next ten prompts.

And if a line lands badly, say so and skip it. This is a game between two people who have to have breakfast together tomorrow, which is a rule the party version never had to think about.
